The final barrier in high-containment laboratories
We are delighted to announce that Zehnacker has been awarded the Office of Public Works (OPW) Single Supplier Framework Agreement to supply five BSL3 decontamination autoclaves for the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) at Backweston Campus, Celbridge, Co. Kildare.
Through our strategic partnership with MMM Group, the equipment selected is the MMM BMT Sterivap HP IL.
Why BSL3 decontamination matters
Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) laboratories handle dangerous pathogens that pose a serious risk to human and animal health. In these environments, the decontamination autoclave is far more than a piece of equipment. It is the final barrier between what is contained inside the laboratory and everything outside it.
Built for high-containment laboratories
✅ Dual independent process sensors, as required by EN 285, verify every parameter, so a load is only released once all conditions are met.
✅ A bacteriological chamber-outlet filter with condensate sterilisation and inactivation ensures nothing contaminated leaves the drain.
✅ A gastight barrier keeps the dirty and clean sides separated and stays airtight even when powered off, with BSL-3 and BSL-4 configurations available.
✅ Validation options range from basic validation through to full GMP qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
